The Earth Gives More

From leaves falling and becoming fertilizer to raindrops bringing plants to life in the spring, the cycle of every season has something to enjoy. While delighting in all nature offers, we need to remember to respect and treasure the world around us. This sweet rhyming story follows the change in seasons and illustrates how we can all be stewards of the Earth (Source).

Hi, my name is Sue Fliess (pronounced “fleece”) and I’m the author of dozens of children’s books including the Beatrice Bly’s Rules for Spies series, Sadie Sprocket Builds a Rocket, Goldilocks and the Three Engineers, the Kid Scientist series, many Little Golden Books and more. My background is in copywriting, PR, and marketing, and my essays have appeared in O the Oprah Magazine, Huffington Post, Writer’s Digest,  and more. I’ve also written stories for The Walt Disney Company. My picture books have been featured on Reading Rainbow Live, received honors from the Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators, have been used as curriculum tools in schools, in museum educational programs, have been named to many ‘Best Books’ lists and have been translated into multiple languages. Two of my books have been chosen for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library! After spending 17 years in Northern California, my family moved to Northern Virginia, where we live with our English Labradors Charlie and Truman, and way too many mosquitoes (Source).

Christiane Engel loves writing and illustrating, especially for children and young people! She has illustrated over 50 children’s books so far and also creates art for magazines, advertising, book covers, and kids’ products. Her work is created digitally but she uses traditional media like acrylic paint as well and brings it all together on her computer. Projects that Engel particularly enjoys working on share an inclusive, mindful and environmentally conscious view of the world. She likes her illustrations to look playful and free-spirited, and hopes that kids of all ages will enjoy them! Christiane grew up in Germany, and now lives by the sea in Kent, England (Source).
